A little bit about soul food

Soul Food Limited was established in 1998 by Maurice Power, a trained Pastry Chef with extensive experience in the catering industry.

Having nearly 20 years in the logistics business, Soul Food Limited are committed to bringing product innovation and logistical solutions to the food industry, specifically the café section.

The company’s mission is to provide a range of freshly baked, ambient products on a daily basis. The company sources from local bakeries to provide the freshest and best quality products available. Soul Food Limited uses a fully computerised inventory and ordering system to ensure full product traceability and to provide customers with up to date and accurate stock report information.

Maurice Power

Maurice Power graduated as an Advanced Pastry Chef from DIT – Cathal Brugha Street. He gained extensive experience in some of Irelands top Restaurants including Les Freres Jacques and The Grey Door Restaurant.

After travelling and working abroad as a chef for many years he returned to Ireland where he began selling his own produce through Mother Redcaps. At this time the café scene in Dublin was taking off. Maurice recognised a gap in the market to deliver freshly baked products daily and due to the huge demand for his products he founded Soul Food Limited with his wife Ciara Roche in 1998. He quickly established a reputation for quality and reliability and this formed the basis of his relationship with Bobby Kerr and the Insomnia Coffee Company.

Distribution Team

Our team of drivers set off before sunrise ensuring timely deliveries of freshly baked products to over 100 outlets in Dublin and the greater Leinster area. In addition we also partner with couriers to accommodate nationwide deliveries.
